DINITROL 4010 provides a highly effective solution for cavity protection in wind turbines. This durable corrosion protection agent is easy to apply inside turbine cavities and forms a resilient protective layer once dry. DINITROL 4010 offers outstanding protection against rust and external influences, even under the toughest conditions. The product is extremely versatile, delivering long-lasting corrosion protection and high mechanical resistance thanks to its strong adhesion and high temperature tolerance. By applying DINITROL 4010 in cavities, even hard-to-reach areas are optimally protected. The product penetrates deeply and acts like a cavity wax, supporting the safe, long-term operation of wind turbines and guarding against unwanted corrosion.

Surface Protection

Wind turbines are exposed to extreme weather conditions around the clock. Rain, wind, UV radiation, and salty air constantly attack their surfaces, leading to corrosion, material fatigue, and mechanical wear. Effective surface protection is therefore essential to extend the lifespan of towers, rotor blades, and other components while avoiding high maintenance costs.

DINITROL offers powerful solutions for corrosion protection in wind turbines. The rust converter DINITROL RC 900 penetrates deeply into the material, transforming rust into a stable protective layer. After curing, a zinc primer (DINITROL 443 or 444) can be applied, followed by DINITROL 445 -a paintable stone chip protection based on resin and plastic. This combination provides reliable protection against mechanical stress, saltwater, and aggressive cleaners.

With the right protective coatings and regular maintenance, downtime can be reduced, repair costs minimized, and the long-term efficiency of the system ensured.

Screw Connections (Internal & External)

Screw connections are a crucial part of wind turbines, ensuring the structural integrity of the entire system. Both internal and external screw connections are vulnerable to corrosion damage. Moisture, salty air, and environmental factors promote rust formation, which can lead to wear and malfunctions. Proper corrosion protection is therefore essential to prevent costly repairs and ensure the longevity of the systems. During maintenance and upkeep of wind turbines, targeted application of corrosion protection agents on screw connections is recommended.

For bolts inside the turbine, a two-layer system of DINITROL ML and DINITROL 4941 provides a long-lasting protective barrier.

For external screw connections, DINITROL RC 900, a powerful rust converter, is used in combination with DINITROL 445. A final coating creates a durable and resilient protective layer.

This targeted corrosion protection not only minimizes wear on screw connections but also extends the overall lifespan of the wind turbine. Regular maintenance with DINITROL prevents rust, reduces downtime, and lowers maintenance costs over the long term.

Service cranes located in the turbine housings of wind turbines are exposed to harsh weather conditions that can lead to corrosion and wear.

DINITROL 3850 creates a durable, wax-like protective film with excellent abrasion resistance, delivering long-lasting corrosion protection for the interior of the cranes. Thanks to its low dry film thickness, it provides efficient coverage and extends maintenance intervals to as much as 4–5 years.

DINITROL 770 is a moisture-curing, one-component silane polymer with excellent weather and UV resistance. It is solvent- and isocyanate-free, prevents bubble formation, and ensures a clean, durable result. Ideal for outdoor and indoor applications under challenging conditions.
